We officially opened the Valdivia Dome
At the Sky Bar at Dreams Valdivia, with Rodrigo Guendelman serving as host, we held the official opening ceremony for the Valdivia Dome, one of the flagship projects of our 2030 Sustainability Plan.
The dome will keep the wood chips at our Arica street-level plant covered, improving environmental and operational conditions. But its development went far beyond simply being an infrastructure solution.
For a year and a half, we led a voluntary engagement process with residents, officials, trade associations, and organizations in Valdivia, which included more than 50 meetings and the participation of more than 200 people. Their feedback allowed us to modify various aspects of the project, ranging from its relationship with the views and the landscape to its color scheme.
The final design was developed in collaboration with Elisa Cordero, drawing inspiration from the landscape of the Los Ríos Region, and was selected through a public vote in December 2024.
As our general manager, Diego Sprenger, pointed out during the ceremony, these nearly two years of work also taught us something: opening ourselves up to the community, listening, and incorporating other perspectives allowed us to build a better project.
We would like to thank the authorities, neighbors, employees, customers, partners, and everyone who was part of this process.
Today, the Dome is already an integral part of our operations and of Valdivia's landscape.
