Portuaria Corral opens new applications for funds to support entrepreneurs

Portuaria Corral in alliance with Fundación Simón de Cirene, promotes for the second year its initiative "Juntos por Corral" (Together for Corral), which seeks to support entrepreneurs of the commune through competitive funds.

The general manager of Portuaria Corral, Diego Sprenger, commented that "last year we were able to support more than 35 ventures. We evaluate it as a very positive experience, which allows us to be closer to our neighbors and encourage the development of the community. We hope that this year we will be able to receive many applications and thus increase the number of beneficiaries. We invite all those who want to promote their enterprise to apply".

The fund provides soft loans with a ten-month term, in addition to the support of the foundation throughout the evaluation, delivery and follow-up process, accompanying the neighbors so that they can start up or reactivate their businesses. In addition, people will have the opportunity to participate in meeting spaces where they will be able to meet other entrepreneurs.

In 2021, "Together for Corral" - an initiative that is part of the company's sustainability strategy - received 45 applications and 73% of the loans were granted to women with projects such as handicrafts, lodging, greengrocers, hardware stores, restaurants, with loans of between $1 million and $3 million. This year, the number of beneficiaries is expected to increase to 50.

Applications for 2023 are open until December 22.
